Jakarta Oct.20, 2022 — The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the SDG Academy Indonesia will hold a series of nationwide trainings on circular economy, a business model that can support Indonesia meet its ambitious emission target.
The workshops be held in partnership with Japanese manufacturing company, Nippon Closures Co., Ltd and it is part five dialogues in the Academy’s five-month SDG Leadership Program on circular economy.
The circular economy trainings will target government and non-government officials including academia, the private sectors, philanthropic organizations, Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO), media and youth.
The CE dialogue will also invite CE experts and best practices from both countries, where they talk about the overview of current situations relating to CE initiatives in Japan and Indonesia.
The trainings will be held online. It will feature experts and policy makers in circular economy field such as Environmental Affairs Directorate from Bappenas, Environment Unit of UNDP Indonesia, and focal point from NCC and ICMG.
Initiated by UNDP Indonesia, the Ministry of National Development Planning (Bappenas), and Tanoto Foundation, SDG Academy Indonesia is a medium for localizing SDGs in Indonesia, acting as a knowledge-hub for mainstreaming SDGs. The SDG Leadership Program is one of the main programmes by SDG Academy Indonesia, targeting stakeholders from government and non-government sectors, with the aim of preparing leaders with SDG characteristics who can contribute to the achievement of the 2030 agenda of Sustainable Development Goals. The Academy expects that these SDGs’ stakeholders can help Indonesia to build back better towards more green, resilient, and inclusive cities in the recover from the post-pandemic crisis.
The NCC will also collaborate with ICMG (Intellectual Capital Management Group) Pte., Ltd, as a corporate innovation accelerator for purposeful & impactful innovation in Asia, in the trainings.
